INS Will Not Process Any More FY00 Cases

INS informed the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) that it began processing Fiscal Year 2001 H-1B cap cases on August 7, 2000. When INS began processing FY01 cases it completely closed out the FY00 year and will no longer process cases with starting dates before October 1, 2000. Please note that H-1B petitions can be filed now with a requested start date of Oct. 1, 2000 or later. If you wait until Oct. 1, 2000 to file, the H-1B petition may not be approved until January or February, 2000.
